Fall and Winter:
In the winter, spend a memorable day skiing at
nearby Pico, Killington, Okemo, Suicide Six or Mt.
Ascutney. Try cross country skiing or snowshoeing
from our front door or enjoy the touring center
down the road. Go sledding in town and then walk to
have a special lunch in town. Go snowmobiling or
skate at the indoor skating arena in town. You
might want to go for a horse drawn sleigh ride
through the neighboring fields. Come to Christmas
shop during Woodstock's Wassail Weekend (early
December), cut your own Christmas Tree and bring it
home. Take a baking class at nearby King Arthur
Flour. Then again, curl up by the fire, watch the
snowflakes from the windows, read a good book, work
on a puzzle and enjoy one of Peter’s famous hot
chocolates.
Autumn is a beautiful time of the year in Vermont.
Make sure you reserve rooms early! There are many
craft fairs and church suppers. Pick apples and
visit Sugarbush Farm where you can taste and
purchase locally made cheeses. The color is
spectacular and the days are usually crisp and
clear!
